Domäne Wachau is one of the most renowned white wine producers in Austria. The region is characterised by steep terraces, a cool marginal climate and barren primary rock soils. The term Smaragd is used to describe particularly complex, powerful and dry wines with great ageing potential. This Grüner Veltliner is a light straw yellow colour, open and subtle on the nose, with aromas of white pepper and exotic fruits as well as delicate tobacco nuances. An animating acidity meets the strong, elegant structure on the palate; there's also plenty of spice and a hint of fresh herbs. The finish is long and intensive.
